“Our team will start a blog and we are looking among our team for a group of contributors” is what our Marketing Director says. She asks for four blog posts in a few short weeks and that the very first post is a personal introduction. Well, this past year has been all about pushing myself out of my comfort zone and treading new waters… So, I thought, “heck yeah, Mandy! You can do this!” But…where do I start? Here I sit in front of my laptop working on my introduction. How do I start? What do I say? Will people be interested?
Well, here goes…I am the Director of Health Care Staffing at Northern Ontario’s first and only Health Care Staffing Agency. The team that I have the opportunity to work alongside inspires me every single day. I am not only a Director, I am a wife, a mother of two tiny dancers, a dog mom, a friend, a sister and a daughter. I have been so very fortunate to have so many loving and supportive people in my life.
Prior to joining the team at Plan A, I had a 10 year career within Disability Case Management. This position allowed me to contribute to my community, help others and enhance my skill set. It also allowed me to further challenge myself with the dynamic team of inspiring women at Plan A. The women I work with are intelligent, strong, and solution based; they drive me to be the best I can each and every day.
Through Plan A I continue to do everything I love. I have the opportunity to grow my skills and contribute to my community. Plan A is doing remarkable work within Northern Ontario and I am so proud to say that I am now a part of it all. We are solving problems–real problems–while bringing solutions and changes to health care.
Often times I think with my heart first and I am not ashamed to admit that. I feel that pouring my heart into my job has helped me grow both personally and professionally. It has allowed me to connect with people–real people–while doing everyday business.
I have been blessed with two little girls that make me smile each and every day. They are the reason I work hard, contribute to my community and share kindness with everyone I encounter. I want them to grow to be strong independent women that will change the world. In the evenings and on weekends you can find me cheering these two on at the dance studio and on competition, they just light up my world!
Finally, when the day is over this Director of a Mom loves a glass of red, quietness and a good read!
There it is, my first ever blog post! Stay tuned as this group of contributors will surely give you something to laugh, cry and learn about!
Until next time…
You are definitely an inspiration to all us mom’s. Keep thinking with your heart as it is such a rare quality these days. Great first blog. Beautifully said. Plan A is lucky to have a director like you.
