Megan 2.0

Write a blog...  Just scratched that off the list of things I want to accomplish in my twenties.

My name is Megan and I’m the Marketing Manager for both StaffStat and Plan A Health Care Staffing Solutions, Inc. based in Azilda, Ontario.  Monday was actually my first day on the job and I’m very excited to be a part of this dynamic team!  The long version of my role?  I first identify the needs of our target markets, as well as our companies’ objectives.  Next, I use a variety of techniques to communicate with both current and potential customers about our product and services, ensuring their needs and our objectives are met.  Did I lose you?  I’ll put it simply:  I make sure that you know our brands exist, and that they’re always on your mind.   I’m actively involved in maintaining social media (including the blog!), designing marketing materials, analyzing trends and more.  Let me tell you, it’s pretty neat to market two companies that are absolute game-changers.

I have a fairly extensive educational background.  When I graduated high school in 2010, I decided last minute to attend Cambrian College for the Business Administration program.  I’ll be honest—I had no idea what the program entailed and I thought that “Business” didn’t extend much past crunching numbers and entrepreneurship.  In my first semester I was enrolled in an amazing Marketing class with a very inspiring professor and I have enjoyed the world of Marketing ever since.  Upon graduating in 2013, I decided to attend Lakehead University in Orillia to obtain my Bachelor of Business Administration.  After graduating last summer, I decided spontaneously to return to school (again)—this time at Cambrian College for the Human Resources post-graduate program.  I was fortunate to complete my placement at StaffStat as an HR Quality Assurance Rep and I loved every minute of it!  During my placement, I was encouraged by the A Team to utilize some of my marketing talent by maintaining social media in my downtime; it was a component of my placement that I had tons of fun with!   It’s very exciting to be able to combine and use both streams of my education on a daily basis!

I was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, so I’m definitely a Northern girl.  I enjoy heading out to camp whenever I have a chance—both in the summer and winter.  I also enjoy crafting with friends and binge-watching TV seasons on Netflix. Oh, and I have a two year old Chug (Chihuahua x Pug) named Paco who’s quite the character.

On a personal level, I feel that I have grown tremendously in the past five years. Not only have I been overloaded with knowledge about accounting, economics, compensation, and more, I feel that I have learned many life lessons.  I believe I am more creative, passionate, dedicated, and hard-working than ever before.  I am starting a new chapter in my life and doing so confidently because of who I have become.

If I had to give this chapter a name, it would be titled “Megan 2.0”.
