“If people like you they will listen to you, but if they trust you, they’ll do business with you.” ~ Zig Ziglar
The single most important component to building a business is to build relationships with your clients/customers. By interacting with your clients you can learn to customize your product or service to meet their needs. Leaving a person excited or inspired by your vision is a critical step in building that very important relationship.
- People want to do business with people they trust. If your clients trust you they will trust what you believe in and what your product or service is. By building and fostering a strong relationship you build trust with your client. Understand your client. Know what their needs are and determine how you can bring solutions to their pain points.
- A pleased client is a continued client. Providing superior customer service should be a number one goal. It is important to ensure that each encounter with a client is one that will leave them happy with the services provided and wanting to continue. Providing service with a complete sense of urgency is an excellent way to keep your customer happy.
- Loyal businesses breed loyal customers. Reward those loyal customers, be it a promotion or a discounted rate. Transparency. I have learned that open, honest, transparent communication is key. Even if you have to deliver unsettling news to your client, being open and honest with them will remind them of the loyalty you have to them as customer.
- Your clients’ become your network. A happy client will refer your services among their network. Building this network of people who believe in what you do will want to share and or refer your services or product. Everyone you meet has potential to be or to refer your next customer.
“A customer doesn’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Provide service to your clients the way you would like to receive service. Oftentimes, going that extra mile will be more than worth it in the long run.
