Ask An Owner: Charlene Cameron, Plan A Ottawa

We asked Charlene a few questions about her experience owning Plan A Ottawa and how it’s made an impact on her life. Check out her responses below!

1. How did you first hear about Plan A and what steps did you take to start your own business?

I worked as a Registered Nurse for Plan A. As a result, I then got hired on full-time at one of their partner’s LTC homes. When Plan A started to franchise across Ontario, I thought what a great opportunity to bring such a wonderful solution to a much needed problem in the LTC sector. Our family decided to move to Eastern Ontario to open Plan A Ottawa.

2. If you could give one piece of advice to a new or established Plan A, what would it be?

Things don’t always happen the way or when we want them to. Owning a business can be a real roller coaster. What is important is never giving up. Trust in the process and stay focused on the reason you started this business.

3. What has been the most rewarding part of being a Plan A Owner?

The most rewarding part of being a Plan A Owner is knowing that we make a difference in the lives of so many people.

We provide much needed relief to so many hard working healthcare staff. We have LTC’s back! Our seniors can count on us! We also get the opportunity to meet so many awesome nurses and personal support workers that are supportive of our vision and really want to lend a helping hand.
